United Pet Fund was founded in 2010 as a nonprofit organization with the express purpose of ‘Helping Where Needed’ for animal care and service organizations (ACSO). ACSO’s include (but are not limited to) shelters, rescues, pet food banks, and organizations that provide health services to those animals in shelters. With its founding philosophy, UPF has provided:  Scholarship funds for ACSO personnel to attend continuing education conferences; Handyman service for assistance in repair and maintenance of shelters; Pet Health Days in under-served areas such as Over the Rhine; Emergency funds when needed for unexpected crisis situations; and its signature purpose of providing nonprofit leadership management seminars and resources for animal health professionals and Board members of ACSO. By bringing these two parties together as partners, it provides the best chance for the ACSO to be successful and stronger as an organization in its mission of taking care of needy animals. UPF will follow the creed of the ancient Chinese proverb that states, 'Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach him to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.' Executive Service Corps of Cincinnati will partner with United Pet Fund in providing the 'teachers' and other resources for these nonprofit leadership management seminars. In the end, all the animals served by the heroes at the ACSO will be the winners.
