The next UPF Resource Center Distribution Day will be Saturday, January 20th, 2018, from 2 pm - 5 pm. In case of inclement weather, the ALTERNATE DATE will be Sunday afternoon, January 21st, from 2 pm - 5 pm. You will be informed the Friday night before the 20th in case we believe the Alternate Date will need to be used.
The primary foods that will be available will be from Rescue Bank in the form of dry dog food - Cesar Slow roasted Lamb Flavor with Spring Vegetables, as well as Whiskas Chef's Favorite Choice Cuts in boxes of 12 - 3oz. pouches - 4 per box. Due to a limited supply we are limiting the cat food to the first 18 primarily cat organizations that apply. They will each get 24 boxes - 216#.
We do not know why cat food is never distributed in larger quantities, but if helps any, we are getting in some cat food in the form of the PetSmart BABGAM Program for the February Distribution, and this will be at NO CHARGE to those picking it up.
As always MARTHA's CORNER at the UPFRC is stocked with surprises and growing. Other items also available include Nyantomo Litter Boxes and Pads, Hartz Mountain puppy pads, pet supplies, etc.
For those who like the Chewy.com mixed-pallets concepts, we will have a number of those available due to a generous donation from Matthew 25 Ministries (first come - first served). Those will be sold on a whole-pallet-weight basis - 10 cents per pound. These pallets will not be as large as some from Chewy.com, but we still need to know if you want them. Please indicate this on your census form at the bottom where it leaves room for comments, special requests.
New rules will be applied in 2018 in that if you do not pick up your resources within 2 weeks of the Distribution Day, they will be returned to the general distribution stock. We have had a few members who drag out the pickup of resources, and volunteers are left hanging when we get a series of last-minute changes of schedule from those who are supposed to pick up the resources. This is being instituted to make sure that we are having a more streamlined process of distribution, making best use of the time of our volunteers, and not just storing the resources for free.
Also available will be the canned dog food that was distributed during the December Christmas Distribution (Nutro Chunky Loaf Beef and Chicken and Chicken and Duck), some First Mate Trim and Light, and a couple of pallets of the PetSmart Canine BABGAM dry food......first come, first served. Please indicate on your census the preference for these! There is also some Blue Buffalo Roll Food available at No Charge if you like this form of dog food. Those who use, like the various ways it can be used.
